Downtown Summerlin

As a centerpiece and the crown jewel of Summerlin and the beginning of Summerlin South; Downtown Summerlin wasn't always meant to be what it is now but Summerlin and Summerlin South residences sure are glad it's become what it has. It's here to stay and has more exciting growth still to go!

The site is comprised of 400 acres of commercial and residential neighborhood, with a large outdoor style shopping mall, grocery store, department stores, and top notch food options, it's a popular daily destination for many in Summerlin and folks all across the valley. City National Arena is the headquarters for the famed 'Vegas Golden Knights' hockey team and the 'UNLV 'hockey program along with many youth hockey organizations. Las Vegas Ballpark is home to the Aviators, the AAA affiliate of The Oakland A's and a world class ballpark!

One Summerlin- a 9 story office tower and 2 Summerlin- a 6 story office tower are standouts in the area; with other towers under construction and potentially more in the works, these office buildings highlight the multi use vision originally intended for the area.

There are currently two modern apartment complexes on the site with more residential projects in the works, such as condominiums.

Some brief history: Originally, Downtown Summerlin was going to be called 'Summerlin Center' or 'Summerlin Town Center'. It was slated to open in 2006/2007 but construction was halted in 2008 when the developer encountered financial difficulties.

Howard Hughes Corporation (original land owner and developer of Summerlin) took over the site and resumed construction of the now reimagined mixed use project in July of 2013. The outdoor mall subsequently opened in 2014.

With a fairly substantial area of land still left to develop, there are plans for another casino on the site and several other exciting projects for the area currently being ironed out.

Adventure for all awaits in Downtown Summerlin!
